Kenya Care offers a new future to HIV infected mothers and nowadays also some fathers. Their diagnosis is like a death sentence.The mothers and their children are often repudiated by their community and forced to leave their homes. We teach them how to deal with their disease, improve their self-esteem and provide for their own needs.

We are working with Self Help Groups in Kilifi Country, just north of Mombasa, Kenya. The duration of the program for a group is 4 years. Four groups already graduated.  Another 4 groups are in the program now. We try to establish at least one new group every year.   Each group has 15-25 members.  In average these mothers have  3 or 4 children. We don’t just hand out money to these mothers: we teach them how to build up a future for themselves. Fully independent, confident and self-reliant.
